This API gives you access to lookup the country of certain IP addresses.
On the backend the GeoIP database from MaxMind is used.
Why do I need this API?
In today’s market it can be necessary or at the very least extremely useful to know from which country your visitors are from.
With this knowledge you can display alternative pages for different countries, restrict access to content, display your webshop in the currency of your customer, redirect your visitors to a country specific landing page etc.
Also with the new 2015 EU VAT law you have to charge the VAT rate of the country of origin of your customer. You can no longer charge the VAT rate that is current in your own country but you need to use the VAT rate of the customers country.
All of this is possible with this GeoIP API.
Why is this API not free?
Because you probably also have to pay for hosting your website. And so do I, this website needs to be hosted somewhere and there are costs involved with it.
The GeoIP API has several servers around the globe so there is always a location near to where your website is hosted.
You are really not paying for my house, my food or hobbies. All money is used for hosting the API service.

Users who supply GMail or HotMail/Outlook email addresses may receive the API key mail in their spam folder. So please check your spam folder or supply a different Email address.
If you want to cancel your subscription please go to the PayPal site and cancel your recurring payments. You will not be billed again and your API Key will expire automaticly.
